Never tell anyone when you will be out, say instead when the best time to phone would be. Never invite a "customer" to call when you are alone or accept inappropriate times for visits. Never release goods until full payment has been received.

If agreement is made to exchange goods away from home, only ever do so in a busy public place. If goods are to be posted then postage costs should be agreed before hand and well known scam destinations such as Nigeria should be avoided unless proven 100% trustworthy.

Do not accept forms of payment that you are unsure about, a favourite of the con artist is Western Union transfer or the supposed email from Royal Mail to confirm that you have received an electronic Postal Order as payment for your item. Never send credit card details in an email nor to an individual, only an accredited business could make use of CC details.

Should you wish to make or receive online payments then Paypal has become one of the safest and widely accepted methods at present.

Advertisers should remove listing upon successful transaction so as to avoid unneeded contact and disappointment to others. Advertisements will be removed after 14 days but are eligible for re-insertion immediately.

Traders who advertise on Abletoafford will not be allowed to overwhelm this site with business adverts and any deemed to be in excess will be removed without notice.

There is an adult listing category (Personals/Over 18's) but listings that are vulgar, profane or relate to child, animal or violent sex will be removed immediately, without notice, as will racism, incitement to hatred or violence aimed at anyone singly or collectively.

The listing of weapons, illegal substances/materials, items for the furtherance of crime,or items that are knowingly stolen are not allowed without exception and Abletoafford reserve the right to remove any listing which is deemed to fall into these categories without notice.
